Modi Government has started the Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABY). ABY is also called the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). This scheme, popularly known as ModiCare, is actually a health insurance scheme for the poor people of the country. Under PMJAY, 100 million households of the country are getting health insurance of Rs 5 lakh annually.
What is the goal of Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABY)?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the ‘Prime Minister Jan Swasthya Yojana’ scheme (Ayushman Bharat Scheme i.e. ABY). It has been implemented in the country since September 25 on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
The government wants to provide health insurance to poor, neglected families and families of urban poor people through ABY.
According to the Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 (2011), 8.03 crore rural families and 2.33 crore households in urban areas will be covered under the Ayushmann Bharat Scheme (ABY). In this way 50 million people will come within the purview of PM-JAY.

To join the panel, there should be at least 10 beds in the private hospital and the capacity to increase it.
