If you want to become an IAS officer, then prepare as such after 12th
If you want to apply for the civil service exam, you must have a bachelor’s degree.IAS officers have a very respected place in the country and society.
To become an IAS officer, one must sit in the Civil Services Examination organized by the UPSC and pass it. If you want to prepare only after the 12th, then know what your strategy should be.
Graduate
If you want to apply for the UPSC exam, you must have at least a Graduate in any stream. There is none of any condition of minimum percentage for this exam.
That is, if you have graduated in any Steam, then you can sit the exam. If you can apply for it even when the final year.

Clear the civil services exam
The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages. On the first number, you have to clear the pre. You can sit in Mains only after pre-clearing. The interview has to be given after Mains.
Prelim exam
The preliminary exam consists of 2 compulsory papers. General Ability Test (GATT) and Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT).
The questions will be objective type. There are 2 types of questions that come in Exam, English, and Hindi.
This paper is of qualifying nature. These are a total of 400 marks on paper.
Men’s exam
There are divided into two types IAS Mains – qualifying exam and merit exam.
Qualifying paper
- Paper A: One of the languages included in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution
- Paper B: English
Both these papers are of 300–300 marks.
Merit paper
There are 7 papers of merit, all of which will be of 250-250 marks. That is, the paper will total 1750 marks. All papers will be for 3–3 hours.
Interview
If Candidates Qualify the Mains exam are called for an interview/personality test.
